Who We Are
JOE CLARK
FOUNDER & CEO
“Helping Others Inc. Helping Others is a nonprofit organization that provides help to senior citizens 65 years old and older, and on a fixed income, or Senior Citizens that are handicap. The Services that we provide includes anything that’s broken, leaking, or doesn’t work inside or outside the home. My charity will come in and fix whatever the problem is. For example, if a customer has no hot water, we will come in and figure out what the problem is, and make the repairs. The customer will not have to pay for the service. Even if equipment has to be changed, still no charge to the customer. Helping Others, Inc., will be working with licensed and experienced contractors to ensure that the quality of work will be done properly. We will buy parts and equipment from reputable businesses and chain stores. I have worked in City Government for 35 years; 14 years at Memphis Housing Authority, and 21 years at Memphis Light Gas and Water. Throughout all my years of work I went to many homes and discovered that the customer had many problems in their homes. With the knowledge and the skills that I have, and the people that I know, we hope to change that and make a difference in the community!”

Our Mission
At Helping Others, Inc., our mission is to provide essential home repairs to individuals and families in need, helping them to live in safer, healthier, and more stable environments. Through the generosity of our donors and volunteers, we aim to bridge the gap between those facing financial hardship and the necessary repairs that allow them to thrive in their homes.
Our Goal
Our goal is to complete 25+ home repair projects annually, serving families and individuals in our local community who are struggling financially. We aim to expand our outreach each year by securing more donors, forming stronger community partnerships, and increasing volunteer engagement. Through these efforts, we will work towards creating long-term impact by making homes safer, healthier, and more sustainable for those who need it the most.
Our Purpose
To Serve The City of Memphis: We strive to assist individuals and families who are economically disadvantaged, elderly, disabled, or otherwise unable to afford home repairs in the City of Memphis. We believe that everyone deserves to live in a safe and well-maintained home.
To Facilitate Community Engagement: We seek to foster a sense of community by bringing together volunteers, donors, and professionals to repair and revitalize homes for those who are less fortunate. We aim to build connections that empower both recipients and supporters alike.
To Provide a Sustainable Model for Giving: By creating a strong network of donors, partners, and volunteers, we ensure that Helping Others, Inc. can continue to offer free home repairs and other vital services to those in need, year after year.
To Improve Health and Safety: We focus on addressing critical home repair needs that directly impact the health and safety of individuals and families helping to prevent dangerous living conditions.
To Foster Dignity and Hope: Every individual and family we serve deserves to maintain their dignity. Our work not only addresses physical repair needs but also provides hope and empowerment for those who may feel overlooked or forgotten.
